| Vista Home Premium 64 bit | Trying to switch from Vista 64 bit to 32 bit Bought new Gateway with Vista Home Premium. Some of my old apps do not work, Treo does not sync, and Google toolbar is not loadable for 64 bit OS. As part of the purchase, I have OS Disc: " Vista Home Premium 64 bit / 32 bit with SP1". Does it mean that I could load 32 bit version, and forget for the time about 64 bit? Any other ideas? Thanks in Advance VR |

| | Re: Trying to switch from Vista 64 bit to 32 bit Vista 32 bit and Vista 64 bit do not fit on one installation DVD so the disk you have is not a standard installation disk it may be a recovery disk that will use a recovery partition on your PC itself. You could try running some of your old apps in Windows XP compatibility mode. I suggest that you try again downloading and installing Google Toolbar since I have not seen any other reports of it not working in Vista 64 bit. | | Re: Trying to switch from Vista 64 bit to 32 bit First off, you would need two DVD's to have both the 64-bit version and 32-bit versions available. They are non compatible. Do you have 2 disks? | Vista Home Premium 64 bit | Re: Trying to switch from Vista 64 bit to 32 bit Thanks everybody. Part of PC package was only one CD marked "Win. Vista 64 bit / 32 bit...". Everybody was telling me that one CD would not help me, including Microsoft people. After several tries I was lucky to find a person on Microsoft helpline - the CD was sufficient to switch from 64 to 32 bit Vista. VR |

| | Re: Trying to switch from Vista 64 bit to 32 bit I am having the same problem. My Verizon Security Suite requires 32 bit. Do you have instructions on how you switched or how to get the direct help I need with Microsoft Helpline? My disk reads "Window Vista Home Premium 64BIT SP1".
