Unable to find ISO after download

Running Build 5600
Used Download Manager successfully completed 100% 2.56GB.
Save AS
D:\Users\shux\Documents\vista_5728.16387.060917-1430_x86fre_client-lrmcfre_en_dvd.iso

Pressing Launch brings up a security dialogue:
A website wants to open web content using this program on your computer
This program will open outside of Protected mode....
Name:Rundll32
Press Allow
Open with dialog box pops up I choose IMGburn program which I did the
original Vista disc with
Nothing happens but a screen refresh and slight busy pointer.
The file is not found in the location above or by searching D:\ including
non -indexed ,hidden , and system files.
Do I have to boot back into XP to download it again?

RE: Unable to find ISO after download

Hi,
I'm not sure what you mean by pressing launch, You must burn the .ICO file
to an DVD then install VISTA from the DVD.

RE: Unable to find ISO after download

I haven't tried to upgrade an installation yet. I've always done a new
installation on another partition.

RE: Unable to find ISO after download

This happened with me as well (from build 5384) when downloading RC1 using
the Akamai Download Manager. (Launch is one of the buttons available when
the download finishes.) The .ISO file didn't show up in the folder it was
downloaded to and couldn't be found with a search.

When I clicked again on the link to download using the Download Manager, the
file was visible in the "save as" window that came up. Trying to open or
copy the file from that window resulted in an error that the system could not
find the item. After deleting it and then removing it from the recycle bin,
the file worked normally.

Re: Unable to find ISO after download

Hi,
If that happens;don't use the Akami download manager,
Get your own. Use your own. Here's a free one:

Re: Unable to find ISO after download

The one of the first things I did was find an alternate way to download it,
but there may be others who have this problem using the recommended download
method. Another point is that if I just downloaded it another way without
looking into it some more, I would have "lost" about 2.5 GB of disk space
(properties for the folder and the drive showed the space being used but
checking the volume for errors found none). I thought I might give some
feedback since that is the reason Vista is available for download.
