| | nForce4 SATA RAID drivers can someone give me step by step instructions on exactly what files to copy to disk or CD so I can load the correct drivers for my SATA RAID array? I have an Nvidia nForce4 chipset and 4 seagate SATA drives in a RAID 0. I am using the nforce_vista32beta2 driver download. IDE/driver/LEGACY and copy all files isn't enough info. thanks! chris -- Those willing to sacrifice freedom for safety are deprived both freedom and safety... |

| | Re: nForce4 SATA RAID drivers With 5728 the drivers are already built in - so no need to load them. I found with 5600 I could not install vista (x64 or x86) unless I installed it through Windows XP (or WinXP x64) and used the WinXP drivers. In this case I copied the WinXP sataraid drivers (in the folder IDE \ WinXP \ sataraid ) to a USB Stick (you can use a CD) and use load disc when asked which partition you what to install Vista. | | Re: nForce4 SATA RAID drivers Richard Sorry to have reacted so bluntly; as you know there has a number of problems with NVIDIA controller drivers with 5600. They were for me OK with previous releases. NVIDIA withdrew the RC1 SATA controller drivers, The beta2 drivers would not work and I and a number of others were obliged to use WinXP drivers - not exactly ideal for a RC1 release. Aymincendiary looked to be trying to use Legacy drivers - he was also downloading 5728 so I tried to short cut my response - obviously not that clearly. | | Re: nForce4 SATA RAID drivers burning it to disc right now. i'll load this one after work. any suggestions on an imaging software program? acronis trueimage let me down 2x, and the ASR thru windows xp is unreliable. i'm tired of having to call up for new activations for my apps after a system crash. i've since installed them on a different computer which i rarely ever tinker with. chris -- Those willing to sacrifice freedom for safety are deprived both freedom and safety... | | Re: nForce4 SATA RAID drivers My drivers are for a Silicon Image chipset (driver version Si3112r). I use the drivers made for Windows XP. They work fine, and are absolutely necessary to install "any" operating system on this computer. | | Re: nForce4 SATA RAID drivers My board (Gigabyte GA-K8NXP-SLI) has a SiI3114 SATA RAID Controller but I use the NVIDIA controller for my RAID. I had to preload the SiImage drivers. The NVIDIA SATA controller drivers have been included in 5728; this is the first time, to my knowledge, that NVIDIA SATA drivers have been included in a Windows OS.
