5728 install

I have to say that installing 5728 was great. Ive installed Beta 2, pre RC1, and RC1 but none compared to installing 5728. I did the upgrade and it worked but I wanted to try a fresh install and Im glad I did. It took only 29 minutes to format and install.

That was the easiest install Ive ever done. This was the first version that let me install my verizon wireless card without going to the update site first. Like RC1 I got updates for my touchpad and audio but this build offered an update for my built in wireless.

I cant wait to check all my hardware and see if some of it works in this build.

Re: 5728 install

I just have finished the same operation and with the same result as yours.
Must say that I had a different experience with the upgrade over the
Win XP > Vista 5600 > Vista 5728. It was a bit longish rather.
But this time a fresh installation went well. There is apparently a
significant
difference in stability between Vista 5600 and 5728

Re: 5728 install

These posts are encouraging as I downloaded the latest version but didn't
install as I was unsure if I was supposed to use upgrade (didn't really want
this as I prefer a clean install) RC1 is stable on my computer but now I see
there are changes with the new release I will rethink my options now even if
it does mean installing Office all over again.

Most things I had read to date didn't make me feel there was any difference
but now I read this I am a lot happier. I dreaded reading that this was the
only install which went wrong as my others have been ok.

RE: 5728 install

I think I will have to re-install build 5728. I did it as upgrade from RC1
and thought it affected my pc negatively. Windows easy transfer to cd and
then clean install.
