Vista Tutorial - Installing AntiVir. Appcrash Vista

I purchased a new PC with vista and CA anti-virus 2009 software. The computer came with mcafee trial version which i have already uninstalled. Now when I try to install CA anti virus i get a dialog box saying setup.exe has stopped working and I cannot proceed installation. I pasted the error message below. Any help on this issue is appreciated.

I'm having the same error code problems with my Lexmark x1200 series printer...

Spent 2hrs on the phone with Lexmark tech support and they couldn't figure it out either...

Said they would have to research it and call me back...




I thought I did something wrong in one of the "updates"...I am ready factory restore my computer...see if I can put the printer in then...

FYI, I did see on a MS White Paper that there might be issues if using IE 7...

I might go back to IE 6 first before a complete system restore is done...

I hope someone can help us!
