How to change "Update Driver Software" settings

Hi, in Vista, when you are trying to install/update, you get two options in
"Update Driver Software".

First option is "Search automatically for updated driver software" and
second option is "Browse my computer for driver software"

I clicked on the first option, and selected something basically saying
"oniline only".
After that, whenever I click on the first option to search automatically, it
only looks up online, not my hard drives or optical drives.

Is there any way of changing the behaviour so that it searches online AND my
computer?

Cheers

RE: How to change "Update Driver Software" settings

You could use the second option and tell it to look on your hard drive(s) or
even a particular folder if you know where the newer driver is. That 'auto'
search only searches online which is silly. Colin
