Updating Vista, Windows Defender

I seem to be unable to update Vista or Defender. This machine was an
upgrade from an XP SP2 machine, which was part of a Windows 2003 R2 native
AD Domain with internal WSUS specified via GPO.

Defender update fails without reason, and Vista update fail with error code
8024400A. I could not find any help with this error code.

If anyone has an solution, your help would be appreciated.

Re: Updating Vista, Windows Defender

More than likely it's due to the fact that it cannot reach the Windows
Update (rather the Microsoft Update site) which has been "turned off" by
your GPO for WSUS.

If I'm not mistaken WSUS can support Windows Defender and Vista if you
download SP1 for WSUS from here
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsserv...s/WSUSSP1.mspx.
