Dual Install

I wrote yesterday and still have problems. I could not boot to the XP drive.
I made XP the default in Vista Boot Pro and got it going again, but only if
I make each one the default. I noticed in my disk management that when I
check the C: drive it has C:\vista when I am running XP. I need to change
the boot so that it shows only jXP. I have Vista on the D: drive. I tried to
format the D: and reinstall but it says it is in use use and cannot be
reformatted. What can I do without reinstalling XP?

RE: Dual Install

You start by saying that you got XP working again. Is it still working? I ask
because later on you ask if you should re-install it. Similarly it is not
clear if Vista is working or not. Here's what my dual-boot setup looks like
in VistaBootpro. If both operating systems work, it is just a matter of
getting the boot setup correct. Colin

There are a total of 2 OSes installed into the boot manager.
Current timeout before default boots: 30 seconds.
Default OS: Microsoft Windows Vista

Windows Drive: C:
System Bootloader: \Windows\system32\winload.exe
Windows Directory: \Windows

Entry # 2

Name: XP Home

Boot Drive: D:
Windows Drive:
System Bootloader: \ntldr

Re: Dual Install

Go back to the Vista Boot Pro website...there's a step by step guide in the
forum for deleting/changing entries in the BCDEdit; I had the same problem,
and that fixed it OK. I have Win XP and Vista back, in a dual boot.
