Upgrade to Build 5744 ..

Ok I have successfully upgraded to RC2 Build 5744 from 5728 and before that
RC1 5600.

The upgrades in all cases have gone without any problems at all - I am most
impressed at this stage .. I did have to reinstall my CA Antivirus but all is
well now ..

Re: Upgrade to Build 5744 ..

I will be upgrading tonight or tomorrow from RC1 to RC2.
What anti-virus are you running? Free or purchased?
With the issues going on with MS locking out Symantec and McAfee, I've been
running the Free version of AVG. AVG is suppose to be compatible for the 32
& 64 bit OS.

Just curious.

Re: Upgrade to Build 5744 ..

a.. Upgrades from Vista RC1 are valid.
a.. Upgrades from Windows XP SP2 are encouraged.
a.. Upgrades from any other build are not supported or recommended. 5728
falls in this catagory.

Re: Upgrade to Build 5744 ..

As Far as AVG Free goes, it'll work in 32bit vista but not in 64bit, on any
version. AVG free isn't supporting 64bit right now. you have to "buy" the
pro edition. Oh well, Grisoft's way of making buck i guess. For 64 bit, the
only Virus Scan i know of that work with the RC builds is CA Etrust AV.
they're doing free trials right now that are good for a year. just google
search on Free AV Scanners for Vista RC1/2.
