Yes, RC2 is time limited and expires on June 1 2007

So far every RC I've seen from Microsoft (95, 2000, XP and 2003) has been
upgradable to the full, final release.

If it were possible in the versions you list Microsoft must
have removed it because Win Server 2003 x64 and XP Pro x64
were not upgradeable from the RC to final release. I have
also seen it posted here that Vista RC would not be
upgradeable to final release.

I've only seen where they say it MIGHT not upgrade.
