Vista - Error code: 0x80070241 on install

First I Downloaded , burned to dvd using Alcohol 120%.
I burned at 2X, Installed and got the above error.

Reburned it on a new disk at 1X same error.

From what I gather if you were to look at teh setup logs you may see
something like this:
Error [0x0604ad] IBS Callback_CopySetupFiles:An error occurred while
copying Setup files. Error code is [0x80070241][gle=0x00000241]
Setup was unable to locate required installation file [Boot.wim]. Please
verify that your installation source is valid and restart Setup.
Error: 0x80070002

Usually either a bad burn/iso download or a communication problem with your
machines dvd drive/memeory/hard drive.

Maybe try this:

Copy the vista dvd to the root of your c: drive ex: d:\xcopy /e *.*
c:\vistaflat or jsut use explorer to copy it there.

Then run setup.exe from within that folder. This may help as it eliminates
the dvd drive as a culprit.

Hi,
Im having the same problem... I did the same thing and nothing... 15% and
the Error code pop out, So i dont have Idea whats going on...

I have the same problem in 48% what can I do???

I have the same problem at 49% !?! Help appreciated.

Another thread with an unresolved issue.

But it is on 0% when I try to re-install Windows after *something*
caused my computer to die.

I strongly suspect that it's the hard drive which is borked.

I my self was facing problem of error 0x80070241

then i tried installing vista from bootable DVD by enabling boot from
DVD-DRIVE in bios by doing this setup skipped the coying fase of
installation.
thus no 0x80070241.

after booting from DVD through bios VISTA boot option will come on the
screen
press enter setup will copy files for installation support
then select type of VISTA software you want to install (Incase of
Ultimate edition DVD)
then selec upgrade/clean install
select your drive in case of clean install (in both cases more then
15GB free space is required)

check do not upgrade software on the next screen

rest of the setup will run smoothly

this will definetly resolve all issues
