According the Autodesk, 10 isn't Vista compatible.

It may be possible to install it in XP compatibility mode.

Inventor 11 however, Autodesk claims will be fully Vista compatible.

Re: Cant install Autodesk Inventor 10 y 11

Inventor 11 isn't very compatible with vista RC2.
I have to dig down into the CD to find the install folder...change the
compatibility mode of the setup.exe to winxp and run as admin.
Then after it installs I have to change the compatibility mode of the
inventor shortcut to winxp and run as admin.

Even then I'm still have issues with the content libraries not showing up
and a few other minor issues.
It could be because of the way I installed it, that I'm missing things.

So I can get it to run, just not fully.

It's sad that such a large company can't get their act together.

Re: Cant install Autodesk Inventor 10 y 11

I love it when people complain about software that isn't
finalized. It shows full comprehension and knowledge of
what they are dealing with!

If you really want to see whether the operating system and
applications work correctly, wait until the final product(s)
are on the market! Beta and pre-release software don't
represent the final product and compatibility problems
should be expected at that point!

Re: Cant install Autodesk Inventor 10 y 11

This is RC2, not beta 2. I'm not upset at microsoft. I'm upset at Autodesk.
I figured that if I could install and run Solidedge then I should have no
problem with Inventor...wrong.

Re: Cant install Autodesk Inventor 10 y 11

In article <DEEF8058-7D31-4197-B2C4-6EF3C149D1DA@microsoft.com>,
NBarksdale@discussions.microsoft.com says...
Call it what you want, but it's not Gold! This is still a work in
progress and I suspect that current versions of a monster app like
autodesk won't work on a major OS upgrade until autodesk is is rewritten
for vista. That is likely going to be months after vista is released
(or more). If you want to be upset with anyone, you should be upset
with yourself for not talking with autodesk before simply expecting it
to work.
