| | Not a valid Win32 This is the MS 32 bit DVD. It will NOT install, saying it is NOT a valid Win32 app. It seems to run from safe mode, but that is a NEW install, not an upgrade. |

| | Re: Not a valid Win32 What exactly are you trying to do. What steps do you take prior to receiving the message. What system are you using. | | Re: Not a valid Win32 Windows XP Home, XP Pro, and Vista x86 are 32-bit operating systems. Programs written for these will be 32-bit programs, or Win32 apps. Windows XP x64 and Vista x64 are 64-bit operating systems. Programs written for these will be 64-bit. If you try to run a program written for 64-bit OS on a 32-bit OS you will get the error "not a valid win32 app." So, it appears that you have the 64-bit version of Vista, Vista x64, and you are trying to start the setup while in Windows XP and the error message is telling you the DVD in the reader is the wrong version to do what you are trying to do. Where did you get your DVD(s)? dummy1 wrote: > I DONT UNDERSTAND THIS ANSWERfromTHEO. I have a new 160 DualCore (Dell 510) > W/1064mbRam (W/Norton, DataSafe, etc).
