Windows Vista RC on 256 Mb RAM

Please help me if you can. I have Windows Vista RC but I cann`t test it
becouse I have only 256 Mb of RAM and Winows Vista installer block the
installation. Please say me how I can workaround it. I cann`t upgrade my
memory now. The installation of Windows Vista Beta2 with 256 Mb of Ram was
    successfully.

P.S. I find the problem with wrong switchers. If you use wrong switsher with
setup.exe(for example setup.exe /force) you load this file to memory(you can
check this in processes tab of task manager) but you don`t get any error
message and don`t start the installation of Windows Vista.

The PC doesn't meet the minimum requirements of Vista which is 512 Mb of Ram,
there is really nothing you can do in this case. Vista is a bit of a memory
    hog in this build.

I am really surprised you got B2 to work on 256 Mb. I had 256 Mb, and it
would not install. However, I went online to e-bay, and got another 256 chip
for like 13 bucks (+s/h). Now, I did notice RC1 and RC2 runs smoother using
512, however, is still kinda slow. I am planning to up it to 1 gig when RTM
comes out, along with a newer Vid card to get areo to work.

But to your original post, I don't really know if you could get it to run
under 256, I would suspect it would really drag, and you will get several
crashes. Maybe there is someone out there that has achieved it, someway.

B2 work under 256 Mb of RAM properly. I don`t find any craches.

By this post, I was referring to RC 1 or RC 2, not B2. Sorry for the
    confusion.

With RC1 and above they changed the min requirements to 512meg.

If all you have is 256MB of RAM, don't install Vista. Wait 'til you can get
    more RAM, and then install.

Re: Windows Vista RC on 256 Mb RAM

I agree. Memory is fairly cheap. Like I said, I got another 256 meg on
e-bay for like 13 bucks + s/h. Plus so many programs that comes out under
Vista, in my opinion, are going to take advantage of that extra memory
required by Vista. You can never go wrong with more power..

I understand the want and need to see the program run. I did this trying to
get Areo to run. Finally gave up on a way to work around it, and decided to
up the video card when RTM comes out. Problem is with mine, is that I have a
Gateway that uses the smaller cards. Not that the cards them self are
smaller, just the mounting post. But I know ways around that.
