Windows Vista Installation - Recommended Specs, but slow motion

Hallo,

i bought a new Notebook:

Sempron 3100
1GBRam
Xpress 200M (ATI->Vista compatible card)

Windows Vista Beta 2 should be working without any problems with those specs.
OK, i install Vista as usual, then when the setup completes , my machine
reboots and shows me a light-blue screen with the build tag in the right
lower corner.
But nothing happens, i have to wait for about 1 hour and more, then aurora
starts in absolute slow motion.
Then I reboot manually (powering off and on), then i can enter my username
etc.(first configuration) , but it is damn slow.
For instance when i click on a textbox, i have to wait for about 20-30
second before i can type anything !
Or when I boot into vista , it takes about 7 minutes before the welcome
center shows up.
I already used classic theme etc. and switched some services off.
What can it be ?

I reinstalled Vista Beta 2 3x with different ISOs and tried fresh
installation and xp update.

I tested my notebook with XP of course (works fine & fast) and with 5219
(works fine & fast).

Re: Windows Vista Installation - Recommended Specs, but slow motion

It could be simple case of Vista just not liking your notebook at all. Other
things to take into account include the fact that Vista is still not
optimized for performance. Are there any devices attached to the notebook on
start up and log in? External devices especially USB based ones could be
affecting the performance on log in.
