| | Vista installation failure followed by Office 2007 failing to star I tried several times to get RC1 installed. It failed at the updating files section. I reverted back to XP after dire warnings I may loose everything. I installed Office 2007 it worked well. I updated it using the tech update prior to trying to install Vista. I now cannot load Winword 07 or Excel 07 with the message 'The ordinal 0027 could not be located in the dynamic link library oart.dll'. Any ideas on getting office 07 working? Sorry if this is posted in the wrong area. |

| | RE: Vista installation failure followed by Office 2007 failing to when you say the "tech update" did you mean Beta Technical Refresh? if yes, you might just try to re-install BTR2 and then reboot. also maybe go and check and see if the .exe for word and excel are there. right click start > explore > c: XP drive (or whatever your system drive is) > Program Files > Microsoft Office > Office 12 > now look for EXCEL.EXE and WINWORD.EXE -- if they are there click on them and see if the application opens. |

| | RE: Vista installation failure followed by Office 2007 failing to Confucious Thanks for the response, my brain wasn't in gear! Yes, I mean't BTR2. I have tried to reinstall it (BTR2), but I get the message that it already is there. I went to the prog files directory and tried starting Word and Excell, same message as before. Tried mending the Beta Office installation, didn't work. Tried removing all my beta office files using add/remove. This left some residual bits in the program files area. I deleted these manually. I did not go searching elsewhere for leftovers. Tried to reinstall Beta Office, but now have error 2711 - a prob with Graphics Filters CDR Files Intl_1033. The Beta terminates the installation. Any further ideas? | | RE: Vista installation failure followed by Office 2007 failing to I think I've got it! Used windows help to track down error 2711. Downloaded the Windows Install Cleanup application. Removed Office 2003. Used the application and found I had 3 leftover Office 2007 programmes, removed them. Re-installed Office Beta 07 and now it works. Thankyou Confucious for setting me on the right path!
