Dual monitor problem intel 82852/82855 chipset/video card

Hi NG,

I use a Dell Latitude D400 notebook with the mentioned chipset.
Basically Vista RC1 and Final are running (without Aero of course).

In the display settings I check "Extend the desktop onto this monitor"
and "This is my main monitor" for the second (external) monitor. After
applying this setting only the internal monitor is running. If I try
"Extend the desktop onto this monitor" only it does what it is expected
to.

Does anybody have an idea what do? Under XP this has been working fine.
I've been looking on Intel's website fpr new drivers but couldn't find
any. Tried older (XP) drivers, too. All the same.

I'd be happy for any replies.

Thanks

Linus Schroeder

This is exactly the same problem that I had, but I found a solution that works at least on my computer. Have a look at this posting: Intel 82852/82855 GM/GME Display
