How to install checked build?

Hi...
Are there any special steps needed when installing the checked build? I get
the 0x0000007E stop error at acpi.sys. I have no troubles running free
build.

"you have to have a debugger attached" wouldn't help me a lot without
knowing how to do that, I just insert the DVD and boot from it.

Thanks for any hint,
Jan

Re: How to install checked build?

You can click on the start orb, then select Computer. When the box comes up, press and hold the <ALT> key and press the letter H or click on Help and select About Windows.

Re: How to install checked build?

If you are installing the checked build then you should already know about
debugging. Do you really need to be running the checked build at this
stage? Consider asking in the MSDN managed groups for advice.

Re: How to install checked build?

Hi Colin,
thank you for your answer. I understand that running checked build requires
special knowledge. But I have to get the knowledge somewhere for the first
time...so I thought I could ask here. If not and you know about some
tutorial or intro, please let me know.

Thank you,
Jan

Re: How to install checked build?

MSDN is probably a much better source of help. I assume because you have
access to the checked builds you are an MSDN subscriber so why don't you
investigate the MSDN managed newsgroups?

Re: How to install checked build?

Hi Colin,
well...actually the NNTP server for managed newsgroups is the same as this
one so I thought that the difference is just in using this alias... but I'll
try the web access. Thanks for replies.
