Problems Installing itunes, acrobat reader, quicktime...

Help!

I've been using Vista for about a week now but I cannot seem to find a way
to install a few of my favorite programs. When I try to install itunes, nero
7.5 (enhanced), quicktime, or the adobe .pdf reader I am getting this error

This installation package could not be opened. Verify that the package
exists and that you can access it, or contact the application vendor to
verify that this is a valid Windows Installer package.

I am using current versions of all these programs that claim to be
compatible with windows Vista.

Any ideas what's going on?

Elliot,
Are you downloading these files and saving them to your hard drive, and then
installing them, or are you selecting "Open" at the Internet Explorer dialog
box? If that's the case, save them to a folder on your hard drive first
(like your Documents folder) and then try installing it. I didn't have
trouble installing QuickTime, but unless they've fixed something, you will
get a buffer underrun error in QT when you try to play a movie.

If that's not what you've been doing, I don't know.

Jesse

I just downloaded Nero Enhanced 7.7.5.1 and the info with that
says that it is the FIRST Vista compatible version. So try a newer
version.

Don't know about your other software ... but check for later versions.
