What Are You Using To Create The Boot DVD

I have downloaded the DVD image of Vista from MSDN, but am not sure how to
burn this to a DVD and make that DVD bootable.

What are others doing to create that boot DVD?

Thanks

I used Iso Recorder. It worked very well.

Nero does it - from memory it's Tools -> Burn Image. If it's not on the
Tools menu check the others.

You can download a free copy of ImgBurn, which will burn both CD and DVD
images. Alex Feinman's ISO Recorder is an excellent product, but as it
mentions on his site: DVD support is only available on Windows Vista.
Therefore, you can't burn the DVD image from within XP. If you don't have
Nero, ImgBurn is your best bet, and it's completely free.

Re: What Are You Using To Create The Boot DVD

It already is the image of a bootable dvd. It has been lifted off of the
media so it could be transmitted electronically. All you need to do is
transfer it back onto media. The key is to use "burn image to disc" or
similarly named function in your burner software. You do not need to
perform any other operations on the image file.

RE: What Are You Using To Create The Boot DVD

ISO Recorder is a good old friend, but it won't work with the DVD.

Re: What Are You Using To Create The Boot DVD

ISO Recorder will not do DVD is XP, you have to be using the
Vista version in Vista to burn DVDs.

"(DVD support is only available on Windows Vista)" in 2nd &
3rd lines at the top of the page.

Re: What Are You Using To Create The Boot DVD

Double-click on the iso file and it should automatically open in your
burning application, ready to burn to disk.

Re: What Are You Using To Create The Boot DVD

The Windows Server 2003 Resource Kit Tools (freely downloadable from
Microsoft) has a couple of command-line tools for this.

RE: What Are You Using To Create The Boot DVD

Thanks everyone for the responses. This was the first time I've ever tried
to burn a bootable DVD. Had the OEM version of Nero on my machine, and it
worked fine.
