| | Re: need NT 6.* or above to install some drivers What drivers? It is possible that you are trying to install drivers on RC1 that are written for rtm only. | | Re: need NT 6.* or above to install some drivers Most drivers, a ti card reader, a synaptics touchpad and so on. I think that is the reason, that these drivers are written for RTM only but then, how do I upgrade from rc1 to rtm or when is it going to become available here in Europe? | | Re: need NT 6.* or above to install some drivers Well, it seems that rc2 is the version my drivers ask for. I decided not to download it and now it seems too late to lament for it. Anyway , there should be some way to install the drivers no matter the version since ot herwise we're not really using our computer provided microsoft isn't doing this to make sure all beta users change to the retail version on due time > Most drivers, a ti card reader, a synaptics touchpad and so on. | | Re: need NT 6.* or above to install some drivers Since pre-release versions of Vista do not qualify for Vista rtm upgrade edition pricing, you (1) can purchase a full edition of Vista or (2) restore a previous version of Windows and purchase a Vista upgrade edition. I assume your RC1 is Vista Ultimate so if you do (1) it needs to be an Ultimate edition if you want to use the upgrade functionality. Any other edition and the upgrade option will be disabled and you will only be able to do a custom install. If you decide to do (2) simply use the Windows Easy Transfer wizard to save your files and settings, install whichever edition of Vista is right for you by whatever method and then restore your files and settings using WET again. You would then have to reinstall your apps.
