Vista Upgrade Advisor says uninstall Backup MyPC

I can't figure out HOW to uninstall Sonic's Backup MyPc, it was installed
apparently automatically by installing Roxio Easy Media Creator 8.
Roxio/Sonics knowledge base & support is not helpful. Same with searching of
assorted forums related to Sonic/roxio and other forums/web. Anyone know how
to get rid of this program? I've never used it/never will, I didn't even
know I HAD it on this machine until it showed up as needing to be
uninstalled. OR will the install of Vista Ultimate be successful even if I
DON"T uninstall it.

Re: Vista Upgrade Advisor says uninstall Backup MyPC

Uninstall all of Roxio then reinstall it once the upgrade is finished. Pick
a custom install and don't install Backup MyPC.

Re: Vista Upgrade Advisor says uninstall Backup MyPC

Thanks for the advice, but uninstalling Roxio does not get rid of Backup
MyPc...

Re: Vista Upgrade Advisor says uninstall Backup MyPC

Then you'll have to wait until Roxio comes up with a way to uninstall it. A
quick search shows many people with this problem and no answers other than
completely uninstalling Roxio usually but not always uninstalls Backup MyPC.
My recommendation would be to do a clean install of Vista then reinstall
your programs and restore your data from a backup. If you don't want to go
this way then make sure you have a good verified backup and you know how to
restore it before attempting the upgrade.
