Problem Installing Vista (Hardware i think)

Hi, i am trying to install Windows Vista Beta 2. However when i come to
install it, it checks to see wether it is compatable with my system. It says
that i need to update the device 'D347PRT SCSI Controller'. I know my
graphics card is only 64MB, could this be the reason for the problem. Meaning
that i will need a new graphics card. I understand that Vista must be run
with a graphics card with at least 124MB, i think.

Many Thanks

RE: Problem Installing Vista (Hardware i think)

I have already updated the drivers, but it still shows the same message, so i
persume it could be a hardware problem.

RE: Problem Installing Vista (Hardware i think)

Hi I have exactly the same problem and I don't think that is a video card
problem (I tested with integrated one instead of external one, same problem)
but maybe it's a problem with chipset or processor. My computer is a NEC 6610
with a pentium D 930 with chipset 945G

Re: Problem Installing Vista (Hardware i think)

This has nothing to do you with your graphics card.

It's the driver daemon tools uses to create virtual drives. You don't need
this driver to use windows vista. You can just ignore it.

Re: Problem Installing Vista (Hardware i think)

ahh i am using deamon tools to mount it so that would explain it. but it
doesnt give me an option to ignore it, it says i must update before i can
continue. But i have already updated it to the latest. If i were to copy the
installation files onto a dvd, would it work then?

Many thanks

Re: Problem Installing Vista (Hardware i think)

You could ignore it but the installation will not work. When you need to boot
on the DVD the PC restart each time. The DVD burning is OK, tested on 4
different PC and each time on PC with Pentium D (830 or 930) and chipset 945G
this is not working (restart loop). Bios upgraded without changes. Jonmassie
what is your processor and chipset please ?

Re: Problem Installing Vista (Hardware i think)

Hi thankyou for helping me

My processor is an 'AMD Athlon 64 Processor'

im not sure how to find what my chipset is when i right click on my computer
and choose properties it says

Acer Inc.
AcerSystem
AMD Athlon 64 Processor
3000+
791 MHz, 1.00 GB of RAM

and it is Windows XP, Home Edition, Service Pack 2, i used the Vista update
programme on this laptop and it says there where no problems with putting
vista on it, however i would need a new graphics card for the aero interface.
This is because mine is only 64mb when i need i think a 128mb.

Many Thanks

RE: Problem Installing Vista (Hardware i think)

Hey,

I am having the same exact problem. I am wondering If I should go and ignore
the warning.

Can someone let me know if this has worked for you by ignoring the error?

If not, What should I do.

Thanks
Uday

RE: Problem Installing Vista (Hardware i think)

Hi there

I am the one that started this thread

And i have managed to resolve the problem.

Mount the image ISO and open the folder with the setup files etc in from the
My Computer menu. Transfer all this Data staright to a DVD.

The next time you come to Setup, you will be able to continue pass that part
of the installation. It worked for me. Apparantly it was a problem with
mounting drivers or something.

Im willing to answer any more questions.

Kind Regards

Jonathan
