hi i have been trying all day with no success can you please help im
trying to install windows vista ultimate and u get to 48% and i just
get this error 0x08007024. my brothers computer worked fine he got past
it nothing wrong. but he did format the hard drive then installed it.
but i dont see why mine didnt work. please help

Unplug any USB device that you don't need,
but keep your mouse and keyboard.
Any peripherals attached to your computer.

Uninstall any AV, spyware protection, firewall,
any type of software that monitors things. Automatic
disk defraggers... etc. Take everything out of startup.

Do some disk cleanup. Run a chkdsk and check
the option to "fix errors" and "scan for and attempt recovery".
Defrag.

That should say:

*unplug* Any peripherals attached to your computer.

Then plug them in, let Vista recognize it and install
them. One by one.
