Downgrading, is it possible?

I wish to downgrade from Vista, simply because I am not happy with how it
runs (or does not run) with programs such as AIM. Is this possible? I tried
simply inserting my XP CD and it does not give me the option to reinstall XP.

Re: Downgrading, is it possible?

Nope, not possible, if you upgraded from XP, you just have to reinstall XP.

The normal way to "uninstall" any operating system is to format the
hard drive and install a new OS of your choice.

Simply boot from the WinXP installation CD. You'll be offered the
opportunity to delete, create, and format partitions as part of the
installation process. (You may need to re-arrange the order of boot
devices in the PC's BIOS to boot from the CD.)

I actually have found a way around the AIM problem. Trillian will work on
Vista so you will be able to continue to get on your AIM account.

Re: Downgrading, is it possible?

No you can not downgrade from Vista to XP. You will have to format you hard
drive to reinstall XP. Hope you backed up your drive first. When you format
everything will be lost.
