| | first boot blue screen caused byCanon scanner Just for info... my blue screen of death at first re-boot during upgrade installation was caused by my flatbed CanoScan 3200F scanner or its software. The Advisor had warned me of a possible problem, but didn't say uninstall. When I did disconnect the USB scanner and uninstall the software Vista installed fine. Canon web site has either Vista drivers (for later scanners) or new CanoScan Toolbox and ScanGear software that will install and work after upgrade. My scanner works fine under Vista. The lessons here are if something is mentioned under the upgrade advisor as possibly problematic it may need to be uninstalled and you should check for any software upgrades before upgrading to Vista.
