Task Scheduler/Norton issues.

Norton Protection Center/Task manager...

I can NOT figure out how to close Norton Protection Center. I don't want it
running...
I tried right click the program down in the task bar next to the clock, I
tried looking for it in the Task Manager.

I can find Symantec processes running in the task manager, but, if I try to
close them it says my access is denied. It's very annoying because of all the
popups...even if I disable all of it's features, I get pop ups say I need to
enable them because my computer is unprotected ETC...

Is there ANY way to close Symantec/Norton?

Also, I ran a task. Simple task to start a playlist in the morning (used for
my alarm) this morning I awoke to music playing...However, there was nothing
running that would play the music. No media player, no processes, no
applications. I eventually had to go into task scheduler and disable the task
to turn the music off. Is there something I'm missing?.
