install failure

Hello,

I can not complete the installation of Vista.

I am trying to installon top of Win XP pro, and running install from a CDROM
burned from an ISO that is verified to be CRC correct.

The install seems to go okay, ( a bit slow), and gets all the way to
completing the installation. When it goes for the final(?) reboot it goes
into an endless loop of reboots.

I was able to f8 and stop the auto reboot option and found a BSOD with an
error of 0x0000007E (0x0000005, 0x8428E731, 0x80406830, 0x8040652C)

my computer is a 80565GSA mother board
3 HD -- 2 RAID 0, and the third an IDE
The video is integrated along with audio and LAN.

All the drivers are up to date.

The compatibility wizard indicates that I can install the Core program.
But, it indicates that the SATA driver might need to be installed manually.

I know on XP install, I had to press f5 during install, but do not see an
option to press anything during the install.

I do not think it is a SATA problem as Vista obviously reads from the drives
enough to get through the initial start up enough to get me to f8 and the
BSOD.

Any suggestions??? Will I have to clean install, and if so, in the event of
failure, will the re installation of XP use up credits towards my program
key???

Thanks,

Bill Bergovoy
