| | Re: TOP: C0000218 {Registry File Failure): how to fix it in Vista Ulti I took out one memory strip at first, tried booting up and it didn't work. Now i took out tow strips and it still doesn't work. I have 4x1gb of corsair ddr2 ram. With only two strips of memory left it still won't boot up. :-/ I pretty much have a fresh install since about 2 months+- months ago. I installed SP1 about a week after my install. Everythings been fine since and never had a problem at all. Today i came home, turned on my computer and it's been giving me the BSOD all day long, haven't logged in once. My brother does share my computer with me but only with limited access, so i doubt in Vista he's able to click on an update and install it. And if it did happen, because a couple days ago i do remember seeing a reminder for a windows update, then that's probably it, but i'm not sure if an update was done since last night. -- mario98 ------------------------------------------------------------------------ mario98's Profile: http://forums.techarena.in/members/mario98.htm View this thread: http://forums.techarena.in/vista-set...all/677924.htm http://forums.techarena.in |

| | Re: TOP: C0000218 {Registry File Failure): how to fix it in Vista Ulti I had this problem: Quote: > The Registry cannot load the hive (file): > \systemroot\system32\config\DEFAULT get error 8007000e, -Not Enough Storage to complete operation-. I solved this problem (the registry problem) by going to the command prompt and restoring the 'five registry files' (http://www.thegeekpub.com/Home/Artic...4/Default.aspx) manually from the RegBack directory. I hope this finally solves this problem for everyone, as I didn't find this solution anywhere on the Internet. Anyone want to make a batch file for it, to run from a flash drive? -- nintendo1889 ------------------------------------------------------------------------ nintendo1889's Profile: http://forums.techarena.in/members/nintendo1889.htm View this thread: http://forums.techarena.in/vista-set...all/677924.htm http://forums.techarena.in |

| | Re: TOP: C0000218 {Registry File Failure): how to fix it in Vista Ulti Any update to this? What is a fix? New Motherboard? I have a dual core q6600 1.6ghz, 4 X 1GB corsair ram. Gigabyte P35. I run Ubunto on this just fine, but after running windows vista for a few months I have gotten the BSOD over and over. All combinations. Yes the memory is fine. Why would it work for a few months and then crap out? If a person has a permanent fix I would like to know. Will replacing the motherboard do it? ASUS? Thanks all. -- Fatfinger ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Fatfinger's Profile: http://forums.techarena.in/members/94330.htm View this thread: http://forums.techarena.in/vista-set...all/677924.htm http://forums.techarena.in |

| | Re: TOP: C0000218 {Registry File Failure): how to fix it in Vista Ultimate Thanks for the response. I tried the first suggestion to no avail before I sent this out. I don't have the OEM/Can't find or wife threw out... to reload vista. But reinstalls on this thread didn't seem to work either. So I thought, if the problem were a combination of vista 64 and the gigabyte p35, that I should either get a new mb or reinstall. I was hoping I could find a different MB that doesn't have this issue and not have to purchase and reinstall Vista. but either way is ok with me. If it was a gigabyte issue then a new mb would seem the way to go. Any recommendations welcome. -- Fatfinger ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Fatfinger's Profile: http://forums.techarena.in/members/94330.htm View this thread: http://forums.techarena.in/vista-set...all/677924.htm http://forums.techarena.in |
