"Windows Media Center" upgrade to "Vista Business" ?

Hi all,

I am buying an HP Pavillion which runs on the "WINDOWS MEDIA CENTER".
Can I upgrade it to VISTA ( preferably "business" ) directly?

I know "WIN XP PRO" does allow for the upgrade, but I have been told the Win
Med Cntr is not able.
And that I have to purchase a WIN XP PRO first, and then upgrade it to Vista
!! ... which would mean even more money out of my pocket !!
Can we do the vista- Business upgrade with the XP HOME ED ?

Pleasee help me out.

As per the upgrade matrix here, you can only clean install Vista Business if
you are currently running XP Media Center:
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/pro...radepaths.mspx

You are eligible for upgrade pricing, but a clean install would be required.
XP Media Center can directly upgrade to Vista Home Premium and Vista
Ultimate.

Here is a link to the upgrade paths. Green dots mean an in place upgrade is
supported. Yellow means only a custom install. You cannot do an in place
upgrade from XP MCE to Business. Yes from XP Home to Business.
