| | Reinstalling after Key Activation I recently purchased a Full Version copy of Vista Ultimate, and installed it onto my computer as a fresh install. However, no more than a day into the instal, after activation of course, my hard drive died, and i needed to reinstall onto one of my secondaries. Now I receive posts on activation that my key is invalid and i need to purchase a new one. I spent the 400 already to get this, tell me there's a way around needing to buy another key just because of hardware failure. |

| | Re: Reinstalling after Key Activation With the full version of Vista, you can activate the OS an unlimited number of times and move the OS to a new computer/hard drive an unlimited number of times (as long as it's removed from the previous computer/hard drive). If it will not activate by choosing the Internet activation option, then use the Telephone option. -- Ronnie Vernon Microsoft MVP Windows Shell/User "TheBrodieMan" <TheBrodieMan@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:8E02AA04-5907-409F-8249-9BFD9B43916F@microsoft.com... >I recently purchased a Full Version copy of Vista Ultimate, and installed >it > onto my computer as a fresh install.
