Vista Ultimate "shutting down" suddenly freezes (spinning disc sto

Booting up into safe mode, it will shut down correctly but not when booted
    normally.
No yellow symbols in Devices. AVG free installed & USB11v4 wireless Linksys
adapter working fine. Nothing in task manager at point of shutting down. What
else can I do to hunt down the cause?

RE: Vista Ultimate "shutting down" freezes

Found that its the USB wireless adapter which stops it shutting down- unplug
it and it shuts down OK.
Anyone any ideas about how to avoid unplugging each time before shutdown?

Check for an updated Vista driver on the manufacturer's web site.

Re: Vista Not a setup question. Post in general.

Why not post this in the Vista general group? It's not a setup question.
