After going through the install (clean install) for Vista Home Premium and
upon first reboot all I get is a blank screen, even after I let it stay in
that state for more than 12 hours. I am planning on using the dual boot
feature so I don't lose any of the programs I am currently using, eg. AutoCAD
Electrical 2006.
Here are my PC's specs:
Windows XP Home SP2
AMD Athlon XP 2400+, 2GHz
2.5 Gig Memory
Maxtor 60 Gig #6Y060L0 Hard Drive (currently my C:\ drive)
Western Digital 250 Gig #WD2500JB Hard Drive (for my Vista install)
ATI X1650 Pro AGP Graphics Card with 512MB
Pioneer DVD-106 DVD Rom
Plextor PX-708A DVD/CD burner
All anti-virus software has been unistalled, all firmware and drivers are up
to date as far as I can tell.
I do get a message after rebooting back to my XP Home.
Your previous version of windows has been restored, and you can continue to
use it. Before trying to install this version of windows again, check online
to see if it is compatible with your computer. Go to Microsft website
(www.microsft.com) and search for "upgrade advisor".
I have used upgrade advisor and it indicated no problems.
Any help wth this would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you in advance for you help.
