DVD Drives

When I try to read a disk vista does a crash dump. ( Blue Screen on Death )
It doesn't matter if I use My Computer of explorer.

Error message is IRQL_Not_Less_Or_Equal
ATAPORT.SYS Address 8062DC2B base at 80622000, Date stamp 446d1c60

If I try and play a DVD movie either drive, same results. Drives:
HP DVD Writer 7406 ATA Device and ASUS DVD E616P3H ATA Device.

Thanks for any Help.
