| | well...so far everyone has had lots better luck than i have i have a dual boot system...on 1 hard drive and a second hard drive just there for storage unused but formatted. Vista doesn't even recognize or can't identify either hard drive to begin an installation. i wanted to try it on the empty drive booting from the dvd. then tried to install from the xp operating system. same dumb luck. any one else have this trouble? this may not look good when going for my A+ certification exam at this rate. both drives are 60 gigabytes each. a 7200 rpm magnetic data model md600bb-00caa1 and a 5400 rpm samsung model sv6003h. |

| | RE: well...so far everyone has had lots better luck than i have problem solved. checked my win2k and xp disks....they saw both hard drives. even though i have raid disabled it has still taken up roughly 25 gigs of space on my second drive leaving me with only about 33 to play with. i used the XP disk manager to re-partition and reformat the remainder of the drive. Vista only then saw both drives. still strikes me as odd that it didn't see the primary drive though.
