Easy Transfer under XP/SP2 fails to write to DVD

I have tried multiple times to complete an Easy Transfer from an XP/SP2 PC
(with the latest updates) to Vista. I have a properly functioning new
internal Lite-On burner that works perfectly fine within XP.

Here's what I do:
1) With XP running, I insert the Vista DVD and choose the transfer files
option.

2) I choose the things I want to transfer and the medium (CD/DVD).

3) The program starts and appears to be working, even to the point of saying
that's it's copying the files. But, the DVD burner light never comes on, and
eventually there's an error message to the effect that the "API (IMAPI)" has
failed.

I've checked the newsgroups KB for a solution but don't see one. Can anyone
offer assistance?

Sorry I don't have a solution for you. Can you use an external USB
connected drive?

Solution found...but with a major caveat

Updating my own post...

The Easy Tranfer API IMAPI error occurs while the program, as it turns out,
is processing a 1 GB video VOB file. (I had selected My Documents to tranfer.)

Just to see if it made any difference, I chose not to include My Documents,
with no really large files, and less than a 4.7 GB DVD's worth of data. Well,
this time it worked. So, it looks like Easy Transfer, at least in my case,
cannot deal successfully with really large files being written to a DVD.

BTW, where's the best place to report Vista bugs to Microsoft?

Now that Vista is RTM there is no special channel to report bugs, use the
normal channels:
http://support.microsoft.com/gp/contactbug
