| | Video displays "Out of Range" at bootup I try to do a clean installation of Vista Beta 2 on my Sony VIAO (SiS 651 Graphic Controller) with NEC LCD 1712 display. After the computer boots up from the DVD, I got this message (from the display, not from Windows): "Out of Range". I can't get pass this point to actually run the set up. Any ideas? Thanks. |

| | RE: Video displays "Out of Range" at bootup I'm not sure if there is an option to lower the resolution/frequency on the installation screen. My monitor doesn't have that option, neither. | | Re: Video displays "Out of Range" at bootup Isn't that set in the installation program? If there is a way to specify the initial resolution, I would like to know. | | Re: Video displays "Out of Range" at bootup Mine was doing the exact same thing. Reboot your system and hit the F8 key durring boot, you will get an options screen that allows you to select "Low Resolution" boot mode. Select that one and Vista will boot normally at 640 x 680 resolution, once you get booted up you can run windows update and it will grab the video driver you need to get your system running with your LCD at normal resolutions.
