Re: Disappearing Re-cycle bin

Try this: Right-click the desktop and choose Personalize. Click Change
Desktop Icons in the left pane. Select Recycle Bin and click OK. It should
be there. If not, what else have you installed since Vista? Any XP utility
or security programs?

Disappearing Re-cycle bin

Vista is now up and working well apart from the question how I want to start
Vista when I first switch it on, the other niggling point is that my Re-cycle
bin has disappeared from the Desk top, failing making a shortcut is there any
reason why this should be happening and is there a way that I can restore the
actual icon not a shortcut

Re: Disappearing Re-cycle bin

How to restore your desktop "Recycle bin" icon.

Go to "Control Panel" and click open the "Personalization" icon.

On the left pane, click on "Change desktop icons" it will open the Desktop
Icon Settings. In the Desktop section, check the "Recycle Bin" box, apply
and close.

Go to your desktop and you should see the "Recycle Bin" icon there.

Re: Disappearing Re-cycle bin

Others have mentioned how to get the Recycle bin back. It probably
disappeared when you thought your were emptying it. For no known reason, MS
included a Delete option in the right-click menu as well as the Empty
Recycle Bin option. Since both actions involve the deletion of something,
it's very possible you just hit the Delete one without realizing it. I know
I did (almost did it twice, too).

RE: Disappearing Re-cycle bin

Hi

My re-cycle bin dissappeared as well 2 days ago and yesterday my desktop
decided to disappear to - all I get now on start-up is "desktop not
accessible - access is denied". I have been trying to find an answer but
unable to - will let you know if I am successful.
