| Guest | Easy File Transfer doesn't transfer SideBar Gadgets? I just used the Easy File Transfer wizard to copy all settings for a single user account and then restored them on another computer. I found that all user configured SideBar Gadgets are missing and also all the user defined Quick Launch shortcuts. Is this as it should be? |

| Guest | Re: Easy File Transfer doesn't transfer SideBar Gadgets? I have seen this too, but then I haven't accepted everything that EFT transfers... I unchecked some things. Did you accept all the settings in EFT? If you did, and it still did not transfer, then it is normal behavior - although I am not sure why. (The sidebar configuration has to be stored somewhere... in the user profile?) | Guest | Re: Easy File Transfer doesn't transfer SideBar Gadgets? Hello, Thanks for posting. From your post, I understand that you're using Windows Easy Transfer to transfer files and settings, but you're not seeing Sidebar Gadgets or Quick Launch shortcuts on your new computer. Sidebar Gadgets are actually programs and therefore not transferred by Windows Easy Transfer. Windows Easy Transfer only transfers files and program settings. You'll need to add Gadgets to the Sidebar on your new computer. Windows Easy Transfer does not transfer Quick Launch shortcuts. You'll need to add shortcuts to the Quick Launch toolbar on your new computer. Please let me know if I can provide further assistance on this problem Sincerely, Byron |
