removing "favorite links" from explorer

I've already emptied my "favorite links" folder in explorer. Now I want to
remove it entirely, so it is not taking up %40 of the left column of explore.
How can I remove the "favorite links" pane?

Re: removing "favorite links" from explorer

Drag the Folders bit all the way up to the top.

Re: removing "favorite links" from explorer

Ah, I tried that already, but your post encouraged me to try again. I
finally found how to 'grab' the line, and pull it up.

Thank you.

Any idea on how to have the 'User' folder closed when explorer runs up? When
explorer first comes up, most of the screen is taken up by the user
sub-folders, which is never of any interest.
