multiple Problems one care + vista

One care problems
*I keep getting an annoying error message from vista that my firewall is
off.
*Tune always says defrag could not be completed and will resume next tune
up. One care has disabled vista defrag so I can not do it manually.
*onecare Can not download important security patches.
*Backup never remembers the last back up and I have to do a new backup each
time.
*Onecare also disabled vista defender
*On top of this I get a green light that tune up is good.
(No virus or spyware found).

Vista Problems
*Vista keeps freezing,
*im getting boot up locks
*Programs once working are no longer working for no apparent reason eg
printer.
*Restore does not work in vista or with CD. (Reformat and re-load made no
difference)
*Vista warns of programs not compatibe but allows some to load in which I
can not remove them and get error messages flash that they can not run.
*Vista advised that most XP programms will run on vista? Should be a few

Am I just unlucky or are these programms a flop.......?
