Directory tree?

I tried the upgrade from XP SP2 to Vista Beta and like a lot of people it
failed so I did what I thought was a clean install. But now when I look at
c:\ the directory names are somewhat screwy so I think some of them are from
XP and some are from the failed install. Is it possible that someone here
could point me to a what the names of directories are if you did a clean
install? Or email a snapshot of it to t_llguy at comcast.net?

Thanks for any help.

What are the directory names that you think are "somewhat screwy"?

$INPLACE.~TR
$RECYCLE.BIN
$Upgrade.~OS
$VAULT$AVG
$WINDOWS.~Q

Those seem odd to me.

Thanks for the help, Rich

Those indeed seem odd, are not normal on a clean XP install. I would guess
that your clean install wasn't truly clean. Did you format the drive as
part of the install? If not, you may want to do it again, making sure to
format the partition first during the setup process.
