Please Help!! Vista Installation Trouble.

MayDay! MayDay! I have an Asus A8N-E Mobo running with RAID 0 data striping.
Vista Premium Upgrade from WinXP nearly completes until the final reboot
when I get a blue screen message stating that Vista needs or can't find the
driver to WinXP Promise FastTrack S150 TX2 (raid card, correct?). Windows
Upgrade Advisor showed no problems with this device. Any help?

CPU- AMD FX-60
2GB Corsair Ram

RE: Please Help!! Vista Installation Trouble.

Raid I believe is something that is still being developed, and yet to be
supported. This is just a wild shot in the dark, but try d/l the driver from
acer, and while it's installing before the crash point hit f6 and insert the
floppy copy of the d/l driver. Why? F6 would work in xp, and I noticed a lot
of xp elements still apply in vista..... just a shot in the dark.

The only other thing I can think of is since it's RAID 0, I think it COULD
be reformatted, but you would lose everything, and might have to opt for the
full install version.

I don't work for M.S. so don't put more weight on my feedback than I
deserve. Just a normal person browsing the forums for help on my own probs....

RE: Please Help!! Vista Installation Trouble.

This is the arror message I received...

Ran the UPgrade advisor prior to purchasing the software - it said no
problems. Attempt to do the installation and it stops me due to incompatible
drivers. Any suggestions?

Close Windows installation and contact the device manufacturer for updated
driver software for these devices:
SCSI and RAID controllers: WinXP Promise FastTrak S150 TX2plus (tm)
Controller
The upgrade advisor showed -

Win XP Promise FastTrak S150 TX2 (tm) Controller Promise Technology No
action required

RE: Please Help!! Vista Installation Trouble.

Thanks! But two things... I have tried both the upgrade and full clean
install and have ended up with the same results because of the same driver.
That, and I do not have a floppy drive.

Could you please tell me how to get thios driver from acer?

Thanks

Re: Please Help!! Vista Installation Trouble.

Hi,

Are you loading the raid drivers prior to starting the installation? If not,
you need to be. At the point where you choose the installation location, use
the 'load drivers' link to do this (can do it from floppy, usb stick, or
other media - big change from XP and earlier).

Re: Please Help!! Vista Installation Trouble.

Thanks very much. Could you please tell me when exactly to install these
drivers? In order to install them prior to any Vista installation I am
required to remove the previous versions and reboot.

Do I installl the drivers first or is there a point somewhere into the
installation process?

First of all, are these the needed drivers to take care of the Promise
FastTrack S150
TX2Plus...http://www.nvidia.com/object/nforce4...a32_15.00.html

Re: Please Help!! Vista Installation Trouble.

Thank you very much. Could you please tell me when exactly to install the
new drivers? Do I do it before starting the Vista installation or is there a
point into the installation? In order to install the drivers prior to
installation I must rollback the previous versions and reboot.

Are these the nescessary drivers to take care of the Promise FastTrack S150
TX2Plus problems...

Hello ans thanks. When and how do I install these drivers for Vista Premium
Upgrade? Should I upgrade from my previous system or is it best to do a full
