Right click on START/PROGRAMS not working

After reloading Home Premium due to a non recoverable crash, I can not right
click on any label under START/PROGRAMS to delete it or even make a shortcut.

I have to go into MY COMPUTER or EXPLORER to do it.

How do I fix this?

Re: Right click on START/PROGRAMS not working

Although this shouldn't affect All Programs in the Start Menu, it will
affect the icons in Start Menu's initial view: right click on the Start
Menu button, choose Properties, then choose Customize. Make sure the
"Enable context menus and dragging and dropping" item has a checkmark next
to it.

Re: Right click on START/PROGRAMS not working

Hi cewrx7r1-

1) Try this reg tweak from Kelly (whose site seems to be off line--I had to
use a web archive to reach it):

http://web.archive.org/web/200604241...ontextmenu.reg

Click it>run>apply

2) Try SFC:

Type cme in Search Box>rt.click when pops up>run as admin>at prompt type sfc
/scannow.

3) If you have a restore point try SR.

Also see this which could fix it from Ramesh's excellent site which also
required me to use a web archive:
