| | Vista Compatibility Issue I am trying to install Vista Business on a computer running Pentium4, Intel Motherboard D845GBV_ with 1 GB memory, 2.0GB speed, Vissiontek X1550 video card. After entering the product key on the installation and accepting the licensing screen, i select upgrade and it then says "checking Compatibility" i get the blue screen saying: 'DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL' ***STOP: 0X000000D1 (0X05D0050, 0X000000FF, 0X00000001, 0X8727CABE) I have uninstalled the virus program and disabled all the start programs in MSCONFIG. My computer passes the Vista Advisor compatibility tests with no problems. Any ideas?? Note: I tried calling Microsoft and they said the product key is valid but it is OEM so they won't provide telephone support and I should use the email or chat options on their support page. When I try that, I recieve message saying the product code is no good. |

| Windows Vista™ Ultimate | This error is caused by Virtual devices like virtual cd/dvd programs and devices windows can see but unable to startup, Try removing every device from the computer during setup and plugging it back in after it finishes if that doesnt work you will need todo a clean install. |

| | Re: Vista Compatibility Issue Hi, I don't see that motherboard on the hardware compatibility list: https://winqual.microsoft.com/HCL/Pr...=v&cid=105&g=s Nor do I see any Vista drivers for it from Intel: http://www.intel.com/design/motherbd/bv/index.htm Offhand, I'd say that the board is not a good candidate for a Vista upgrade. -- Best of Luck, Rick Rogers, aka "Nutcase" - Microsoft MVP http://mvp.support.microsoft.com/ Windows help - www.rickrogers.org My thoughts http://rick-mvp.blogspot.com "rc_anon" <rc_anon@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:6214556D-A43F-49B7-8AC1-43E2E70D2DF6@microsoft.com... >I am trying to install Vista Business on a computer running Pentium4, Intel > Motherboard D845GBV_ with 1 GB memory, 2.0GB speed, Vissiontek X1550 video > card. > > After entering the product key on the installation and accepting the > licensing screen, i select upgrade and it then says "checking > Compatibility" > i get the blue screen saying: > > 'DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL' > > ***STOP: 0X000000D1 (0X05D0050, 0X000000FF, 0X00000001, 0X8727CABE) > > I have uninstalled the virus program and disabled all the start programs > in > MSCONFIG. > > My computer passes the Vista Advisor compatibility tests with no problems. > > Any ideas?? > > Note: I tried calling Microsoft and they said the product key is valid but > it is OEM so they won't provide telephone support and I should use the > or chat options on their support page.
