| | parrallel install I forgot my password to business and can't hack my way into the system. I'd like to do a parallel install to c:\win to get access to my file system but I can't seem to find out how to do this with my install cd. I've tried both a windows anytime upgrade cd along with my vista business upgrade cd and they both seem to only want me to upgrade. How can I do a parallel install so I can grab some files ? I plan to use my system restore cd once I get these files to get back online. |

| | Re: parrallel install Hi Joe, Boot with the disk and start setup, but do not enter a product key. Simply choose a version (doesn't really matter which since you're going to wipe it out afterwards) and install. -- Best of Luck, Rick Rogers, aka "Nutcase" - Microsoft MVP http://mvp.support.microsoft.com/ Windows help - www.rickrogers.org My thoughts http://rick-mvp.blogspot.com "Joe Wilson" <jwilson@charter.net> wrote in message news:0Q2ai.125$da1.79@newsfe03.lga... >I forgot my password to business and can't hack my way into the system. | | Re: parrallel install Hi, Only if you choose to format. By the way, have you tried booting into Safe mode and using the system admin account (it wouldn't have a password unless you set one, and from there you can reset your user account's password)? -- Best of Luck, Rick Rogers, aka "Nutcase" - Microsoft MVP http://mvp.support.microsoft.com/ Windows help - www.rickrogers.org My thoughts http://rick-mvp.blogspot.com "Thomas Wilson" <tom@toms.com> wrote in message news:OVzgscXqHHA.264@TK2MSFTNGP06.phx.gbl... >I was about to try that, but it looked like was going to wipe out what was >in program files.
