setting up new hardware problems

I am logged on as administrator in Vista but cannot install the my HP 1600
printer/scanner from the installation CD. Says tologoff and log on as
administrator. I went thru the cmd line to activate etc. but so far nothing.

Re: setting up new hardware problems

Is this printer software Vista compatible? The HP 3015 I have is "Vista
Compatible" but HP failed to mention that their software toolbox is
not...and they have no plans to update it (my 3015 is 18 months old).

Two things to try. Right-click on the "Setup" program on the CD and choose
"Run as Administrator". Or run the Compatibility Wizard and choose to
install it as "XP" (I don't remember the exact verbiage).

Oh...sorry. I didn't notice that you had asked the same question a few
minutes earlier in a separate post.

Re: setting up new hardware problems

Tim what did you do on the 3015? The websites shows 3 drivers but I dont know whether to just let Vista discover it (3015) or figure out which to install?

Thanks.
