reinstalled vista...

my motherboard died not to long ago, so i had to reinstall vista (have home
premium upgrade)...
however when trying to activate vista it says my key is already in use and
can't use it...
i'm NOT going to pay 60 bucks to talk to support and have a likely chance of
them NOT solving the problem.
what are my options? how can i get windows to activate so i can just use the
friggin system.....

maybe its doing this cuz it recognized its dual booting w/kubuntu....

Re: reinstalled vista...

Hello,
Thanks for posting. From your post, I understand you have a question about
activation. Sounds like you are being asked to activate again because you
had a significant hardware change. Choose to activate by phone.

Sincerely,
Byron

Unfortunate, but hardware does fail.

Well, yes..... Your Product Key was already in use; by yourself from
the initial activation. But there's nothing that said you can't use it,
only that you can't activate via the Internet.

I don't blame you. I'd feel pretty silly too if I had to pay someone
sixty dollars to tell me to read the on-screen prompt to activate by
telephone.

Follow the on-screen instructions to activate by telephone, of course.

No, that couldn't possibly have anything to do with it.
