Changing registry permissions

I have a 727 PhotoSmart camera and when trying to install the photo program
from the CD that came with the camera, I get the message that this program
does not have access to the registry. Then this message
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CURRENTCONTROLSET\ENUM. I am using Vista Home
Premium. Can anyone help me get this installed?

RE: Changing registry permissions

Try right clicking the setup.exe on the CD and then Run as Administrator.

RE: Changing registry permissions

That was the problem at first but now through "Run as Administrator" it goes
through some of the beginning processes of installing but once it gets to a
certain point it stops and that's when I get the message about not having
access to the registry.

RE: Changing registry permissions

you could change permission in registry, first to open "regedit", and then
right click the "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CURRENTCONTROLSET", click
permissions, ,and click advanced, at the popup window, switch to owner,
choose a user account, which have administrator privilege, click ok.
