vista can't tell diffrence between office 2007 trail vs new

Hello,

I have a new pc running vista. It came with office 2007. My work purchased
the software for me requiring that I get a disk, so I went through our
bookstore to purchase the new software. After loading, vista still promts me
for activation information realting to the old trailware- I can't tell which
one its running? What do I do? Dump everything? and what would be the files
to delete?

Thank You

Just a thought: did you uninstall the original version before
installing the new one?

Christa

This belongs to the Office newsgroups.

But you need to uninstall the Trial version completely before installing a full version.

The same thing happen to me with XP. What I found out was that you can not
have another microsoft program installed when installing the new program. It
will always asked for the activation key when you run it. What you need to
do is to uninstalled the program that was pre-installed on your
computer...including Microsoft Work. Then install Office 2007 again with
your disk.
